About the event

Coming together to Step and Raise awareness for suicide prevention.

I received this email from a mother and needed to do something to show how proud I am of her strength and perseverance. This event is in loving memory of Aiden Charles Bailey.

Hi Chris. I have been working out with you since I discovered your YouTube channel in December of 2022. I try to leave comments for you whenever possible and I love how you comment back and are always so supportive. I wanted to email you to just say thank you for being you. I don't think you could ever fully understand the impact you have had on my life. You see, in December of 2021, my 15 year old son took his life and died by suicide. We were on a family vacation on a cruise in the Caribbean and he jumped from our 16th deck balcony and died instantly. His 13 year old sister was the one to discover his body. It completely blindsided our family in the worst possible way. I truly felt like life imploded and I didn't know how I would survive it. The year that followed was the darkest of my entire life. I went through the motions, woke up, took my meds, went to work, went to counseling, participated in my grief group, tried to be a good mom for my daughter, but I wasn't taking care of my physical health at all. I hadn't exercised in over a year when one day in December of 2022, a year after my son left us, I discovered you by accident just browsing on YouTube, and I decided to buy myself a step for Christmas and work out with you for just one week. That week bled into two and then four. Then out of absolutely nowhere my 39 year old brother had a massive heart attack in January and tragically died. It fueled my fire to improve my heart health. Now I have been working out with you for 5 months. I don't have an amazing weight loss story to tell, the scale is "only" down 15 lbs, but I am feeling so strong and have lost inches. For the first time in 7 years I am under 200 lbs and my clothes are fitting better and my endurance and strength have significantly improved. More importantly I have lowered my blood pressure and significantly lowered my resting heart rate from 85 to 65 bpm which is a massive improvement in my heart health. Most importantly? Working out with you has been what gets me up every morning. You have kept me going in the darkest days of my life because working out with you makes me smile and improves my mental health because I feel good about taking care of my body. I want to be around for my daughter, who is now 15, and I want to set a good example for her that mental health is every bit as important as physical health but they go hand in hand! I cannot tell you how much I look forward to your funny stories, your positive energy, seeing your pups and friendly guests, and sweating out the negativity in my head. You make exercise FUN and something I actually want to do rather than something I dread but do because I feel I should. I never imagined that I would be the person to wake up early on Saturday morning to workout live but I do and I absolutely love it!

Thank you, from the bottom of my broken heart, for being a ray of sunshine in this world for everyone who works out with you. I don't say this lightly when I tell you that you have literally saved my life and I am eternally grateful. I'm already looking forward to getting up to work out with you tomorrow. :-)

Love and light,

Barbara Bailey (42)
